Venkateshwara Temple at Ramenahalli

Venkateshwara Temple at Ramenahalli is a Lord Venkateshwara Temple situated at Ramenahalli in Mundargi taluk of Gadag district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Hammigi is located south of district headquarters Gadag and Taluka headquarters Mundargi. Ramenahalli is 2 km from Mundaragi.
==Mythology==
In the time of krutayuga it was a mini forest where it's a pratiti that Lord Shri Rama with Lakshman came here when he was going to Sri Lanka. So it's named Ramanahalli. 250 years ago a black shila (stone) of Lord Shri Venkateshwara was found here. By that time the maharaja of Mrudagiri (now called Mundaragi) built a temple around it, and it was given to the Katti family for worshipping the god, and also they gave jahagir (land) for the survival of the family around the village. The village is 2 km away from Mundaragi.
The shila (stone) is an Ekashila murthy faced towards the east. It also has a speciality that at yugadi day the sun rays will directly fall onto the crown of Lord Venkateshwara.
The temple is built from the stone where divided into three parts, the sanctum (garbha gudi) and other two. It also has a honda (pond, collection of water for abhisheka) and in front of the temple we can also see a long Garuda pillar (gamba). Here for 300 years an Ashwath Vruksha (Banyan Tree) has been situated beside the temple. The environment is very good; bhaktas can worship the god with calm mind.
For 200 years, the Katti family has been looking after the worshipping of the lord Venkateshwara. Today also all performances will be conducted by the priests, and everyone can get the blessings of shree Venkateshwara.
The programmes are conducted according to the Madhwa philosophy where all the adorations (puja) are done in a well situated manner. The Navaratri Utsava is very famous here all around in Mundaragi Taluk. From the first day (Pratipat of Ashwin Maasa) to the Vjaya Dashami, many rituals are conducted with a spiritual background like purana and Jnanasatra. At the day of Vijay Dashami, many bhaktas will come from different villages for the Dasara festival. The worshipping of the Shami vruksha will be held in the evening. The god blesses all the bhaktas who pray and serve for him with the purest mind.
